We believe you are all wrong about the Metaverse!

1 You are all wrong

When you think about “the metaverse” you will see a virtual space. Something like Ready Player One.

A virtual world, like Fortnite, GTA, or what @meta showed us in the Facebook demo.

But is it a place?

2 No. It is not a place; it is a moment in time.

We all have heard of Artificial Intelligence. And everyone has thought about what happens if they evolved to be smarter than us humans. This is the idea of “the singularity.”

The singularity is the moment in time when AI becomes smarter than the human brain.

3 But what does this have to do with the Metaverse?

The Metaverse is not a place, it is a time. A time where our physical lives are worth less than our digital lives.

This is not a change that is happening overnight. It is the result of a gradual evolution that has been occurring for the past 20 years.

Every aspect of our lives is slowly becoming digital.

Games — more people are playing Minecraft & Among Us than football & basketball combined.

Social Life — We are connecting more with other people through social media apps like Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram.

Work — We are being able to work increasingly more remotely than we have before. Just the last year there was a 37% increase in adults working from home.

Everything will be digital.

And now with cryptocurrencies, all your assets are online too.

Crypto Punks and Bored Apes is the new Jewelry.

Fortnite skins are the new fashion

According to data from Arterioportal, the average American spends 7 hours and 11 minutes on social media or games every day.

When your life becomes digitalized, your Rolex also needs to come with you.

VR and AR technology is advancing fast, and soon enough we will be living with smart glasses on us at all times.

We will go from 50% attention on screens to ~90%+

This is the moment in time we will call the Metaverse.

Because at this moment, our physical life will be less valuable than our digital life.

Humans have adapted to substantial changes like this multiple times throughout history.

We cannot stop evolution from happening, but we can caress it.

Do you believe the Metaverse is a good or bad thing?
